  • Signs are posted as motorists enter and exit active worksites.

  • Violations occur at 11 mph or more over the posted work zone speed limit.

  • After data is validated, violations are certified and issued to the owner of the vehicle by mail.

  • Progression of penalties:

    • First violation: Zero-fine warning

    • Second violation: $75 civil fine

    • Third and subsequent violations: $150 civil fine

Regulations

  • Collected penalties go into the state’s General Fund.
