Signs are posted as motorists enter and exit active worksites.

Violations occur at 11 mph or more over the posted work zone speed limit.

After data is validated, violations are certified and issued to the owner of the vehicle by mail.

Progression of penalties:

First violation: Zero-fine warning

Second violation: $75 civil fine

Third and subsequent violations: $150 civil fine
